Zeta Fast Track
- Learn from ex-military drone experts
- Professionally delivered face-to-face instruction throughout
- An excellent learning environment that caters for all learning styles
The Zeta Fast Track course is our 2.5 day, CAA accredited, combined A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) drone training course.
This course is designed for individuals who have experience operating drones and do not require dedicated practical flying instruction. The course aims to train students how to fly and manipulate sensors safely and efficiently to support a wide range of drone applications, but there is an expectation that students are already well-placed to attempt the flight assessment.
All students will be expected to complete pre-course learning prior to starting the course. This will be followed by 2-days of classroom-based, instructor-led theory training culminating in a multiple-choice written examination and a half day flight assessment, with the opportunity to refresh your skills with one of our expert drone pilots. Upon successful completion of your flight assessment, you will receive your GVC.
Upon successful completion of the Zeta Fast Track course, you will have not only the skills, but the permission, to fly confidently in the Open (low risk) and Specific (increased risk) Categories.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is A1, A2, and A3 categories of operating a <25kg drone?
The categories of operations are known as A1, A2, and A3. They are classified as:
- A1 (fly over people)
- A2 (fly close to people)
- A3 (fly far away from people)
The basic CAA code will tell you everything you need to pass the test for a flyer ID, which allows you to fly in Open A1 and A3 categories.
What is the difference between the Open and Specific categories?
The Specific category covers operations that present a greater risk than that of the Open category, or where one or more elements of the operation fall outside the boundaries of the Open category. You must pass the online test and hold a Flyer-ID, and register as a UAS operator, and display your Operator ID on your UAS.
Who provides the A2 CofC and GVC training?
The A2 CofC and GVC training is provided by our experienced EEI Academy instructors. We are recognised by the CAA and their courses are designed to expand your theoretical knowledge to ensure you operate safely and appropriately.
Where will I do the training?
We have training venues and flight sites in Lincoln and Swindon with options to conduct the A2 CofC online.
If there are enough students on our courses, our training can also be brought to a bespoke location near you.
Testimonials
The whole team was an absolute pleasure to work with, friendly and approachable with a good sense of humour. University of the West
Excellent communication and dedication to ensure information was digestible and easy to understand. Practical approach and very friendly. A2 CofC Student
Excellent course. Tim was able to deliver all content in a way that made it easy to understand and more importantly, remember. The theory input provided a great starting point and ensured a seamless transition to the practical art of aviating the drones. The aspiration of earning “Gold Wings” is a fun incentive to work hard. Well done EEI Leicester Police
Great training and very well presented, Tim was a awesome trainer and presented everything very professionally. RNLI
The instruction from Steve and Gally was excellent. They understood the need to translate the course content into a practical way that we as Kent Fire & Rescue Service will us it. I believe all the content was covered and as a candidate I gained confidence at flying using the hand held screen and camera. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone getting involved with any drone activities. Kent Fire and Rescue Service
I really enjoyed the course and both instructors Tim and Matt made learning fun which helped with me passing the course. I had very little knowledge of drone legislation or flying prior to the course so it shows the high quality of teaching which helped me gain my golden wings and gain a 100% score. Zeta Central Student
